Tips/Tricks
Argentina, blog stuff, handy dandy notebook, making bank, obscure pop culture references, tips, tragedy, urge to write futurnovelist556
9:37 pm
Do you readers remember when I said I was keeping track of all my ideas for the blog in my handy dandy notebook?
Well …
The notepad has been lost.
Don’t cry for me Argentina … I mean wordpress. I didn’t have any genius future money maker ideas in there, just blog stuff. But this is a perfect time to give you a tip or two.
- Keep track of your idea holders (ie. notepad, computer files, PDAs)
- Don’t trust anyone with your idea holders (Think of it this way – if they find your idea they will make bank on it and you will have nothing)
- Don’t tell anyone your ideas! (This one is especially important. If you tell anyone, the urge to write the story will be gone. You NEED that urge!)
The last one had nothing to do with my tragedy but its good advice anyways.

Hi everyone!
As you can see by the title I am still sick. How bad is it? My coughing is shaking my whole body. And I have used up a roll of toilet paper blowing my nose.
Getting back to the real reason why I am updating. Tips!
So today I was trying to study for a test by typing up all my notes (rewriting helps you remember things). I only got half way down the first page before I had to stop because my class was over.
What does this have to do with writing? Everything! My tip for you is this: (more…)

Excuses
day whatever, Excuses, illness, MTCoA, musical theater competition, sick rant futurnovelist556
10:11 pm
Hey all those people who actually read my blog.
I know I said that I would update weekly and haven’t in a few days. Well I am going to use the procrastinator’s weapon of choice: excuses.
- I was at a musical theater competition all weekend, hence not near anything electronic with which to update the blog
- I got back and became ridiculously ill. Seriously, I can barely talk/ breath.
OK, excuses are over. I do have ideas for the blog (that I am keeping track of in my notepad – hint hint) and I will update them as soon as I stop hallucinating.
Rant over. Sick person out.

Tips/Tricks
day 4, english poet, kubla kahn, opium dream, opium poem, pipe dream, samuel coleridge, unfinished poem, writing tips futurnovelist556
8:16 pm
I’m actually doing it! I am keeping up with my blog. I have even started to see things in my everyday life that can be stuffed in the blog.
Back to why I am really here. I have some advice for you writerly types.
- Keep a pad of paper and a pen with you at all times!
You never know when you will get an idea and it would be devastating if you forgot it in the time it took you to find a working pen and a scrap of paper. I mean imagine if the idea could have made you rich or famous and then you lost it?
Like that poor Samuel Coleridge. (more…)

Writing Lessons
creative juices, day 3, get inspired, inspiration, writing, writing lesson futurnovelist556
7:19 pm
Day 3. Woohoo! I am still going strong.
So today while I was in a meeting (A very boring one) I was suddenly hit with inspiration. So I thought I would share some things that I (And other people) do to get inspired.
- Read. (A lot of my best ideas come to me when I am reading nothing in particular)
- Go outside (The beauty of nature has inspired thousands of poets, why not you?)
- Take a nap (Sleep means dreams which are the windows into your subconscious and consequently your imagination)
- Listen to music (And write a story to go along with it)
- Do what inspires you (Some people have an inspiration spot or activity that gets their creative juices flowing – find yours!)
That’s it. Short sweet and to the point. I figured you would actually read this post becauseĀ it is shorter.
Anyways if you have some inspirational tips leave a comment.

Writing Lessons
day 2, deadlines, IB history, internal assessment, procrastinating, tips on not procrastinating, writing, Writing Lessons futurnovelist556
9:34 pm
Day 2. So far so good. I’m actually writing blogs!
Lets start a bet, how long do you think I will last? I give myself 2 weeks.
Anyways, that is just a side note. The real reason I am here is to talk about deadlines. This is partly about writing but mostly I need to vent. I know, I said I would leave my personal stuff for my facebook, but this is actually related.
For IB (international baccalaureate – otherwise known as Satan’s helper) History we have to do an internal assessment. Its this big research project. Well mine is due tommorow and I just finished it 10 minutes ago.
Why did I wait? Let me share my train of thought, in chronological order. (more…)

Blogtastic
beginning, day 1, first blog, getting published, projects futurnovelist556
2:33 pm
Ah day 1. Its the best day of any venture don’t you think? I think so. The beginning this the time when you really believe you can finish your project. It’s the time when you know you will do an amazing job at what ever you are doing.
If you are starting a project then you and I are in the same boat. This is my first blog and your first day at (insert project here). So good luck to the both of us.
To succeed I will make myself a pledge that I will update my blog once a week. On those days when I should be doing something productive. Or the days when my relatives are over and I really don’t want to see them.
So I will use this blog to talk about my successes (and failings) in my attempt to get published. I’ll save my personal stuff for my facebook or something.
