Pen names. Aren’t they cool?
I read once in a writing book that most people assume writers use pen names because they don’t think that the people they see every day could be writers.
I suppose this has something to do with the fact that we have this image (well two images) in our minds. Either a writer is a millionaire rags-to-riches story, or they are so poor they can’t even afford books. While both are present neither is prevailing. Most writers live well enough and write fairly often enough. (more…)

What makes people seek fame? What is the appeal?
I think its that want (or need) of fame that drives people to choose those un-guaranteed professions. Why would any sane person choose to be a writer when there is no guarantee that you will be published or even that you will make enough to survive? Unlike other “stupid*” professions, the appeal of writing is not just the fame aspect but also the need to write.
Why do I write? Because I need to. I have stories inside me that need to be told. If they are not told I will go insane. Because the writing is a part of me. I cannot not write. If you want to do anything “stupid” you had better have the drive. (more…)

I realise that I haven’t updated in like two weeks … I just wish I had something good to write about to make up for it.
So I will bore you with my excuses
Week 1: Spring Break
I got absolutely no writing done. I was too busy trying to win concert tickets over the radio.
Week 2: Little Shop of Horrors
It’s opening week for my school’s musical. That being said I am at school from 7 am to 9 pm. I havent even gotten a chance to sleep. I slept in today (unintentionally) until 4 pm.
So pretty much until next week, I won’t be writing anything creative like.
